Behind the Project

Making PDF Management Simple & Private

At pdfarranger.net, we believe that essential digital tools should be accessible to everyone—without compromising privacy, without subscription fees, and without bloated software.

Who We Are

We are a dedicated group of open-source enthusiasts and productivity hackers. Our goal is to provide a clean, centralized resource for the PDF Arranger project, ensuring that users can easily find safe downloads, clear tutorials, and technical support for one of the best lightweight PDF tools ever created.

The Story of PDF Arranger

The Legacy: PDF-Shuffler

Originally, the world had PDF-Shuffler, a small but powerful tool for page manipulation. However, as operating systems evolved and Python versions moved forward, the original project became inactive. The community needed a modern successor that supported high-resolution displays and the latest PDF standards.

The Birth of PDF Arranger

PDF Arranger was born as a fork of PDF-Shuffler. Developed using Python-GTK3 and the powerful pikepdf library, it was rebuilt to be faster, more stable, and capable of handling complex document structures that older tools simply couldn’t touch.

2026: A Community Standard

Today, PDF Arranger is recognized worldwide as the gold standard for lightweight, offline PDF manipulation. It is translated into dozens of languages and remains 100% free under the GPL-3.0 License, ensuring it will always belong to the users.

The Principles We Stand By

Why we prioritize the user experience over everything else.

🛡️

Privacy First

We believe your documents are your business. By promoting offline PDF tools, we ensure that sensitive data never touches a cloud server or a third-party database.

🚀

Zero Bloatware

Modern software has become too heavy. We champion PDF Arranger because it does one thing perfectly—rearranging PDFs—without adding useless features or background processes.

🔓

Eternal Open Source

Knowledge and tools should be free. We support the GPL license because it guarantees that the software remains transparent, auditable, and free for generations to come.
